During my maternity leave, I spent time with my grandmother. I learned embroidery, about the lives of my female ancestors and about their relationship with textiles. I searched for methods of artistic exploration that I could combine with my new life as a mother and artist. The series of Diary embroidery are contemplations on this process. Looking at women’s roles historically and present, and how I could learn from my female ancestors to find a new path in my artistic career.
